Nihar Gokhale

I am a journalist, editor and researcher based in India.

Over the last decade-plus, I have covered major developments related to the environment, climate change, energy, land conflicts, and the political economy in India. My work, which largely consists of longform and investigative articles, has appeared in Scroll.in, Indiaspend, The Caravan, The Wire, The Morning Context, Newslaundry, The Hindu, The Hindu Business Line, Asia Times, among others. I have worked as a reporter with The Economic Times and Catch News, as Associate Editor with Land Conflict Watch and as Editor, Chaos, with The Morning Context.

My work has taken me to dozens of regions across India and to the workplaces and homes of politicians, farmers, corporate leaders, fisherfolk, priests, professors, activists, forest dwellers, lawyers, administrators. I believe that everyone has a story to tell.
I am currently developing in-depth reporting projects and collaborations with researchers, and aspire to pursue doctoral studies relevant to my areas of interest.
